Becoming the Randy Pausch of Staying Alive…. as the Philosopher-in-Residence at Carnegie Mellon

Unifying Theory of Human Energy, Potential and Wellbeing based on my Philosophical hypothesis of bio-electricity
Becoming the Philosopher-in-Residence at Carnegie Mellon is how I ultimately bring Life-Centric Thinking to all 7.8 billion humans across every nook & cranny of Earth”
Please start with the understanding that I have developed adult-onset Neurodivergence & I communicate in a unique creatively-complex style. This is a result of having learned to rewire my brain after a toxic mold exposure induced left brain dysfunction. I now predominantly communicate with highly creative right brain functionality.
I am eager to return to Carnegie Mellon, after graduating 30 years ago with a BA in Philosophy, to launch #WellbeingPhilosophy to share the hypotheses that have allowed me to stay alive and to create/participate in research that is seeking to explain human health from a holistic and integrated perspective.
My philosophical hypothesis of bio-electricity yields a complex, comprehensive, yet accessible >

Show Us the Money…. I am asking Carnegie Mellon to start me a ‘tab’ as I spent all the money I earned during two decades as a Payroll Software Implementation Consultant trying to stay alive. Then the pandemic occurred. After not working for a decade, and being a female of a certain age, entering the workforce is practically impossible due to the current faulty paradigms of recruiting.
With a nominal amount of start-up cash for salaries and the business entity, I can coalesce students and faculty into a multidisciplinary project team creating a company seed-funded by CMU to build a software & business process hybrid that is designed to be bought by Microsoft or LinkedIn for 10-50 million dollars within 2-3 years.
This concept will reduce hundreds of millions of dollars of inefficiency alongside disrupting patently fraudulent practices within the recruiting industry, while making the finding and securing of a job much more fully equitable and far more robustly non-prejudicial.
Doing Work that Matters, while creating a substantial return on the investment of employing me, via demonstrating the financial benefits of Life-Centric Thinking. After repaying the University’s investment in the team, with interest, and my payout as the founder, I’d like to direct the remaining funds to #WellbeingPhilosophy “Artisanal Capital” to seed-fund future Life-Centric Thinking multidisciplinary projects.

9 Core Reasons to Create a Philosopher-in-Residence Role at Carnegie Mellon for Deb Helfrich
Precedent left Earth during March 2020 ~ Civilizational-level thinking must evolve.
All current systems & structures must adapt to accommodate this new reality of constant, volatile change. Yet systems are built to reliably replicate processes developed in the past ~ Philosophy must become more embedded in daily life so that we can design flexible & dynamic systems and processes that can accommodate the creativity of humanity.
Entire industries have vanished; requiring a new concept of the economy that is not based only on numbers. An anti-fragile, robust & resilient economy is based on Life-Centric Thinking and includes Artisanal Capital to fund salaries for innovative and creative work building a more humane future.
When crisis strikes, only governments and charities are between humans and certain death - both are truly inefficient, resistant to change and dependent on society’s random largess. Increasing the global TQ > Thinking Quotient will allow individuals to become better able to employ Life-Centric Thinking throughout their life.
Higher Education has become a financial burden that only the elite can afford, precisely when business needs a workforce of highly intelligent & flexible workers; and simultaneously Google and other leading employers are deciding that BA/BS aren’t needed for their plum jobs. Life-Centric Thinking offers a business case for the multidisciplinary, philosophical thinking that comes from a humanities curriculum.
Therefore, it is great PR for the quality of CMU’s undergraduate education to have been able to save my life and create this world-evolving role on the strength of having ‘just’ a BA in Philosophy from Carnegie Mellon.
The US of Hypocrisy especially, and developed nation’s overall, are experiencing immense intertwined crises in Health. The human population is experiencing ever-escalating burdens of chronic & fatal diseases alongside epidemics of mental health and neurodivergent conditions that are decimating individual lives and undermining our collective experience of life. #WellbeingPhilosophy is the new branch of inquiry that can bring understanding & a suite of hypotheses to correct this horrific trend.
Furthermore, nation’s beyond the positive effects of the last 120 years of ‘progress’ are experiencing both dire human health outcomes without access to basic needs like clean water and air, adequate nutrition, secure shelter plus access to electricity & internet, so they are rushing to replicate the standard of life industrialization created, just as the industrialized nations realize the vast harm they’ve done to the planet. We must unite as one species, going forward, insisting that all progress must be available to all 7.8 billion humans across every nook and cranny of Earth.
We are entering an era of hyper-digitalization and robotics that will create disastrous consequences if the only activities of our species are the ones that provide exponential profit or are pet-projects of billionaires.
9 Rare Benefits that Deb Helfrich will offer Carnegie Mellon
Creating a ‘First Lecture’ in the tradition of Randy Pausch - about using Life-Centric Thinking to Stay Alive and create an evolutionary 3rd Act to my life; which I have dedicated to sharing the foundational concept > First, do no harm to any molecule of life > that must accompany decision-making as human civilization evolves rapidly in the 2020s

Contextualizing My Midlife Metamorphosis from a Polar Bear to a Giraffe ~ Alongside becoming an Elder Savant, I have lost 150lbs in the 15 months after turning 50….
I was an HR Systems Consultant for two decades. By 40 I was chronically exhausted and living a life of quiet desperation, alone, without community due to the constant travel and my life-long physiological sensitivities to the toxicity of life in the US of Hypocrisy. Then I moved into a moldy apartment in the Seattle area that decimated my health, ultimately resulting in losing 80+ percent of my ability to walk & talk > a ‘parkinsonism’ created by environmental illness.
Using my philosophically trained thinking equipment, I invested years of independent research and scholarship to discover how to stay alive and create hypotheses about the breadth and depth of human health that make holistic sense based on the state of science available via internet access.
My philosophical hypothesis of bio-electricity yields a complex, comprehensive, yet accessible
Unifying Theory of Human Energy, Potential and Wellbeing.
I again jeopardized my own life, trying to create a business to share these skills and strategies widely via the marketplace. After pitching for investment the entire duration of the pandemic, I ended up dead destitute, alone in the world, apart from a few friends who were unable to offer me life-support. So I spent my stimulus check to drive from Seattle to Pittsburgh to not burden over-stretched social and charitable systems, which are not designed for neurodivergent redheads in the coalmines, in order to creatively capitalize on the resources of one of the world’s top research University’s.
I have had to live in my car for 10 weeks, as of July 4th, while not receiving any responses to close to two dozen emails seeking to bring world-evolving Intellectual Hypotheses to the University so that I can research, validate, and share a new story of #WellbeingPhilosophy that demonstrates that the human body, mind & spirit can triumph despite tremendous adversity.
But it also takes a Life-Centric Civilizational framework to ensure precious humans do not go extinct because our current crop of systems and procedures treat human life force as if we are all alike ~ assembly-line tools machined to identical tolerances. Which is not, at all, how life force operates. As evolution is always occurring, prompting dynamic adaptations to ever-changing environmental conditions
Below, a tale of two evenings when musicians are the only humans to notice & care that I exist. We need creativity to flourish, so that we can all process the trauma, neglect, pain and suffering we’ve endured via the inhumanity of the Plantation Capitalism and Privilege Democracy systems that were built to ensure the elite prosper while the masses live miserable lives compromised by judgement at not being like others.
UPDATE ~ I have been living in my car, now, as of August 15th for 4 months, unable to find anyone at Carnegie Mellon who can help me save my own life, so that I can share truly world-evolving Life-Centric Thinking skills and strategies.
